I always called it follow filming but when I worked on the Foo Fighters video everyone was calling me a "skateboard operator". I loved the sound of it, almost like "Smooth Operator" by Sade. I use to film surfing back in the day and would spend 8 hours straight standing on the beach but never get to surf. I figured, if I'm going to film, I want to do what I'm filming also, and that's how it all started. On the very first day I met Chet Childress while filming for "Black Out", he asked me to follow him through the Vagabond pool. 6 years later and it's still my favorite way to film. Sweating profusely, taking hard slams, and boards to the shins, makes me feel like I'm skating even though I'm filming.
