"BNQT.com" 2009
Bnqt.com is a subsidiary of USA Today. They cover the whole realm of "extreme" sports and have a lot to offer the youth out there today. Aside from my blog on there, they also give me the freedom to produce any kind of videos I want. I realized that some of my best ideas happen when there is no pressure.
"SkateBook" 2008
The general idea for SkateBook
was to have a large photo book of skateboarding (past and present) with
very few words in it. Text can often dirty up a photo so we let the
videos on the website do the talking instead. Each chapter in the book
had 3 or 4 short videos on the site that correlated with it. I filmed
and edited enough footage to put a new clip up everyday for 5 months
which increased traffic dramatically. This was my first stab at
dialogue driven videos. I know there are a lot of jump cuts and the
compression sucks but I've come a long waysince then. Click the
thumbnails above or go to the site and check out all the videos from
book #1.
